A Pond Makeover...

I wanted to get at least one blog entry posted in February. So today is it. My new pond has been on a bit of a hold during this busy semester. But I did decide to do a quick makeover of my original pond. I wanted to do away with the "necklace of rock" surrounding it and create a mini-patio- big enough to put a couple of chairs on for easy viewing.
Locally harvested sandstone set in dirt did the trick.

I leveled and packed the rocks as best I could...and am really pleased with how sturdy the little patio feels.

This pair of robins has been hanging around all winter. They LOVE being able to drink from the beautiful rock waterfall. This rock (I'm not sure what kind it is) has natural holes that allow the water to splash and fall pleasantly into the pond.

The chickadees and wrens are daily visitors as well.

'Can't forget the goldfish. They seem quite content with this arrangement. I hope they like the "new pond" as well as they have this one. I'll probably keep some in here as well.

'Waking up for Spring....
